Race day is August 11th!!  Time to get going on those cars and power wheels. The price of the fair is $15.00. This covers all events for the day so come early and go check out all the fun things going on at the fair. Need to be 16 or older to race or be in the pits. If you are under 18 you will need a parental release signed and one parent in the pits with you in case something were to happen.

Registration is open for this year..... Hope to see you there and be sure to bring others to racing with you. If you would like to volunteer let me know. We always need help.

We are going to try a small 2 wheel drive truck class again this year.  There will only be one class this year to see if there is an interest in it. No pro or amateur class just one since everyone will be new to it. Rules for the trucks are after the car rules. When you register remember to click the truck button for that class. ****We may allow  4wd trucks, but the front drive shaft MUST be removed and u-bolt holes must be welded. All other rules stay the same. NO suspension or body lifts allowed. Max of 15" rims with stock tire size. Call if you have any questions.

Registration for drivers $40.00  & pit crew is $15.00

Don't forget to get the little ones involved and register them in the mini dirt dash (power wheel race). Open to boys and girl 3-8 years old. The mini dirt dash starts at 11:00 am and need to register a head of time. Registration for the power wheels is by the bleachers inside the fair not where the car go. Please bring their power wheels there not to the pits.

Though we love to see the wonderful paint jobs on your cars, please remember this is a family event and there will be children there. Please keep this in mind when you paint your cars. Any thing that comes in that is inappropriate will be asked to be painted over or you will not be allowed to race. I got an email late the night after the race from someone in the audience that was not happy with a car this year with a private part on it. She said her children seen it and heard comments from a few others sitting near her. Thanks

*********Just a reminder you have to be 16 yrs or older to race and over 16  to be in the pits. You will need to show your license when you register. NO KIDS under 16 are allowed in the pits. Definitely NO babies or toddlers. They can be let out at the registration table and go into the fair but can not stay in the pits.

*******Reminder****** We are requesting that helmets, window nets and seatbelts be left on until you are back in the pits. Last year there was a problem after the checkered flag dropped and someone was hit and had already taken their helmet off and was hit by a car still racing. Thanks for your cooperation we want everyone to be safe.

******Lets please limit the people that are in the pits. I know you want to have your friends and family with you but they can watch from the stands. Some drivers have extremely large pit crews and we all know they are not pit crew. This is for safety reasons. If you can't  limit them we may be forced too set a limit. Please help us out with this we don't want to have to set a limit. Thanks!!

Dirt Dash racing is where you take a bunch of front wheel drive unmodified cars out to race on an off road course. Pretty much anything goes on the track except for intentional roughness. There is a lot of excitement and even some rollovers usually. This is something the whole family can enjoy. We at Dirt Dash Central  want to make this a great time for all involved, both the drivers and spectators. The Bayfield County dirt dash  will be on Sunday August 11th at 1:00 pm. Registration will start at 9:00 am. You will have to be registered and teched by noon to race.  We are not associated with the Ashland County Dirt Dash or any other race. They all have their own rules, you will have to contact them to find out what they are for their race. If you would like to check out what else is going on at the fair log on to www.bayfieldcounty.org  and check it out. Lots of fun things going on for the whole family.

We will be staying with the Pro and AM classes. This seems to be what more people want. The plan is to run 6 cars in a race with 5 laps in the  heats and 7 laps in the features depending on the cars left to race. We are hoping to run 3 heats then the features depending on the car count. If there is extra time and enough cars left we will run a dash for cash with cars that  did not win in the features. May even be an extra surprise to that race.
